NSS & Medical Camp in Adopted Village ON 28 JAN,2014 AT PONNEKAL VILLAGE,KHAMMAM DIST.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhijis Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing students personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage. The cardinal principle of the NSS program me is that it is organized by the students themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation building.
CELEBRATION OF SOCIAL IMPACT DAY ON JANUARY 27th ,2014
As a part of EKATRA, the celebration of social impact day is planned, involving staff as well as students.Road safety is to be taken as theme and public will be warned of the consequences careless driving and violation of rules of “ROAD”. Students of KITS will interact with public in selected traffic inter-sections of Khammam city, under the supervision of Sri Devendar, HOD, and MBA. Demonstrations about safe driving Habits are planned on the 27th January, 2014.

Republic Day and visit to children Homes and old Age Homes and Homes for the Disabled
On the occasion of EKATRA additional activities were undertaken on January 26, 2014 in addition to the regular ceremonies of Flag Hosting, Saluting and Distribution of sweets. Students aided by Professors formed into groups and went around the city, visiting Old Age Homes, Children Homes and Homes for the Disabled, distributing fruits. The Experience for the students was highly ennobling, as the revelries of EKATRA were associated with social service.
